Cristina Puccinelli nasce a Lucca da mamma americana e padre italiano. Inizia a fare danza e ad andare a teatro sin da piccola. Frequenta il Liceo Scientifico Sperimentale Linguistico dove studia Inglese Francese e Tedesco e si diploma con una tesi sull’Antigone di Jean Anouihl. Si trasferisce poi subito a Roma per seguire la sua grande passione, il cinema. Si laurea all’Università “La Sapienza” in Scienze della Comunicazione con una tesi che tratta di cinema e moda, nel frattempo studia da attrice al Duse International con Francesca De Sapio, e segue vari seminari in Italia e all’estero con insegnanti come Susan Main, Micheal Margotta, Juan Carlos Corazza, Bob McAndrew, Matteo Belli, Mamadou Dioume. Subito inizia a lavorare, nel cinema, in tv e a teatro per progetti italiani e internazionali. Un altro grande interesse che la accompagna sin da bambina è la scrittura, infatti da sempre si diletta con racconti e poesie. Nel 2007 scrive, gira e interpreta il suo primo cortometraggio. Incoraggiata da critiche positive e premi, continua a dedicarsi alla regia con entusiasmo, realizza altri corti che vengono venduti in Italia e all’estero. Ha anche collaborato come giornalista per L’ALIAS del Manifesto e tenuto una sua rubrica di cinema per Loschermo.it. Dal 2013 organizza l’evento”Effetto Cinema Notte”, coordina incontri formativi sul cinema ed è direttrice artistica della rassegna teatrale de “Il Teatro dei Perché” per il Festival del Volontariato. Nel 2018 ha ideato e curato “Scrivere Cinema” – corso gratuito di alta formazione, realizzato con il sostegno di MiBAC e di SIAE, nell’ambito dell’iniziativa “Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura”, organizzato dal Lucca Film Festival e Europa Film Festival. Nel 2019 diventa Direttore Artistico di Firenze Film Corti.

Cristina was born in Lucca, her mother is American and her father Italian. She starts ballet lessons and goes to the theatre since she was very little. She attends high school where she studies english, french and german, and graduated with a thesis on “Antigone” by Jean Anouihl. Then she immediately moves to Rome to follow her big passion, cinema. She becomes a doctor in Communication Sciences discussing a thesis regarding cinema and fashion at “La Sapienza” University. Meanwhile she studies acting at Duse International with Francesca De Sapio, and participates at many seminars in Italy and abroad with acting coach like Susan Main, Micheal Margotta, Juan Carlos Corazza, Bob Mc Andrew, Matteo Belli, Mamadou Dioume. She starts working right away in cinema, tv and theatre for Italian and international projects. Another interest that she has since she was very young is writing, and she prefers short stories and poems. In 2007 she writes, directs and interpreters her first short movie. Encouraged by good reviews and awards, continues to dedicates herself to directing with enthusiasm, and produces other shorts that were sold in Italy and in other countries. She also collaborated as a journalist for “Alias” and held a column on cinema for Loschermo.it. From 2013 she organises the event “Effetto Cinema Notte”, she coordinates educational meetings regarding cinema and she is artistic director of the festival “Il Teatro dei Perché” inside the “Festival del Volontariato”. In 2018 she creates “Scrivere Cinema” – a free high formation course, supported by MiBAC and SIAE, within the initiative “Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura”, organised by Lucca Film Festival e Europa Film Festival. In 2019 she becomes Artistic Director of Firenze Film Corti.
