Jelena Jakovljevic-fotografa
Biography: Jelena Jakovljevic
Jelena
Jakovljevic is a Serbian/Maltese national, living in Malta since 2000.
Inspired by
Proust’s “discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new
eyes” in her photographs Jelena revisit places, things, simple joys we see
every day and tend to take for granted.
Without
obsessing about technicalities or special effects, she finds that any subject
can be inspiring. As both colour and monochrome photographs tell stories in
their different tones, she keeps snapping hoping to offer a different view,
another angle or uncover a story not yet told.
Since 2003 she
has exhibited a number of times in Malta both in solo and as a part of
collective exhibitions.

strong in contrast” E.V.Borg, Times of Malta
