Riccardo, un
bambino di circa dieci anni con sindrome di Down, ha una grande passione: il
teatro.
Vive in una
piccola città di provincia dove una modesta compagnia teatrale composta dal
regista,
nobile ed
ereditario del piccolo teatro di città, e dal signor de Angelis, maschera del
teatro ma concretamente tuttofare, propone periodicamente spettacoli del
talentuoso e giovane attore Mattia. Il piccolo Riccardo, ogni pomeriggio, con
la complicità del signor de Angelis entra furtivamente nel teatro per assistere
alle prove del suo attore preferito:
Mattia, il
quale sta preparando uno spettacolo di mimo ispirato all’attore francese Marcel
Marceau. Mattia è possessore di un grande segreto di cui molti, quasi tutti
nella piccola città, così come il regista e il piccolo Riccardo, ne sono
all’oscuro. L’unico ad esserne a conoscenza è il signor de Angelis.

Arturo Marchesi è un ambiguo
gallerista coinvolto in un infelice affare con il crimine organizzato, da cui
vuole fuggire. Mentre attende i traslocatori per la dismissione della propria
galleria, si presentano, con una divisa della società di traslochi, i due
killer Nick e Sal che freddano il gallerista. Mentre Sal va a procurarsi un
sacco per terminare il lavoro, Nick, un impacciato e goffo venticinquenne al
suo primo giorno nella malavita, viene lasciato solo sul luogo del crimine.
Quella che doveva essere la “semplice” pulizia della scena di un elitto, per
una serie di imprevisti diventa una rocambolesca girandola di assurdi ammazzamenti
che coinvolgeranno imprevedibili personaggi tutti legati al mondo dell'arte.
