Claudio Montesano Casillas
Claudio Montesano Casillas (1981) was born in the “Eternal Spring” Cuernavaca, Morelos (Mexico). A contrast to the “monster” Mexico City which is only 90 km away. But even a “monster” has its own unique beauty!

Juxtaposed between three cultures – Mexican, Italian and Swiss – allowed him to draw on the richness of people, cultures and their respective evolution. It offers him the opportunity to capture contrasting representations of human values and cultures that turn into beautiful expressions.
Claudio is immensely curious and photography has been an early passion. The collection of essays on photography and politics from David Strauss, ‘Between the Eyes’ (2003), inspired Claudio to learn more about the impressive world of photojournalism. He is currently enrolled in the Masters’ programme Photojournalism & Documentary Photography at the University of Arts in London. He resides in Geneva.
